1st day: Athens at Leisure

Welcome to Athens! You are met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy a welcome reception drink and a light meal.

2nd day: Athens city tour - Acropolis museum

After breakfast  sightseeing tour reveals the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of the Wingless Victory and Hadrian’s Arch. The highlight is a visit to the Parthenon, built atop the mighty Acropolis. Visit of Acropolis museum. Dinner and overnight.


3st day: Mycenae, Epidauros and Nafplio

After breakfast this morning we follow the shores of the Saronic Gulf to the Corinth Canal, which divides the Peloponnese from mainland Greece. We continue to the heart of Argolis to visit the sanctuary of Asclepios at Epidauros with its superb 4th century BC theatre. Visit the Museum and the Asklepeion. Next is the ruined city of Mycenae, featured in epics of Homer. Walk through the Lion Gate, visit the royal ‘beehive’ tombs and see the giant Cyclopean stones used to build the city walls. Continue to the  seaside town of Nafplio. Dinner and overnight.


4th day: Olympia, Birthplace of the Olympics

After breakfast this morning, we visit Nemea which is the largest wine-growing region of Greece.Grape growers and winemakers of the region have created the Nemea Wine Roads and propose us to visit their vineyards and wineries. We continue the road trip that takes you through the mountains of Arkadia to Olympia, birthplace of the Olympic Games. Dinner and overnight.

  5th day: Delphi, Centre of the Ancient World

In Olympia this morning, see the Olympic Stadium where the original games were first held in 776BC, plus the athletes’ gymnasium and the city’s ancient temples. After our end of tour throughout Patras we cross Rio-Antirrio bridge to the mainland. At evening we arrive to Delphi and on to our hotel. Dinner and overnight.

6th day: The way to civilization - Kalambaka

After breakfast we visit Delphi and the museum. Now approach the legendary Temple of Apollo, where the mysterious Oracle of Delphi breathed her enigmatic ‘words’. Continuing the road trip, to the historic site of the Battle of Thermopylae which  took place in 480 BC.  Today, the imposing statue of king Leonidas commemorates the historic site.  Continue through the market town of Trikala to Kalambaka. Dinner and overnight.

7th day: Meteora Monasteries and Athens

After breakfast visit one of the amazing Metéora monasteries, incredibly perched on top of pinnacles of rock and enjoy stunning views over the Peneios Valley. After our visit, we leave Thessaly, for a road trip back to Athens. Dinner and overnight.

8th day:: Depart Athens

Breakfast. Your tour comes to an end with a transfer to Athens airport.
